DIY Tassel Christmas tree

This DIY tassel Christmas tree sign is a perfect and easy-to-make addition to your holiday decor. This modern, minimalist tree can be hung as part of your holiday gallery wall or placed on your mantle, or a fun pop of color for your bedside tables or desks! You can

  • switch the photo frame for a canvas, a cardboard cutout, or any base you like.
  • use different yarn colors for the various layers of the Christmas tree.
  • make a fun background with Christmas wrapping papers or keep it neutral for a minimal look, maybe with just a simple natural green on a white background! I have used a bright striped craft paper I had on hand.
  • make it in a size of a Christmas Tree ornament!

What we need:

  • Yarn
  • A picture frame or a canvas
  • Fun background (optional). I used a design from my craft book
  • A star (optional)
  • A small dowel or toothpicks for the stem (optional)

Let’s do it!

  • Based on the size of your frame and the size of the tree, make the required amount of tassels.
  • Glue on or tape the background to the frame/canvas
  • Layout the tassels, leaving enough space for the stem and the star on the top.
  • Hot glue in the tassels in the shape of a Christmas tree.
  • Add in a stem and a star.
  • Style it! 🌲
