A visit to the Alpaca farm

On our New England trip last Fall, we got a first-hand experience spending time with and feeding beautiful and gentle alpacas, at the Living The Dream Alpaca Farm in Quechee, Vermont. It was amazing seeing these fluffy alpacas with our own eyes. It was a cherry-on-top addition to our trip! There’s something truly special about these charming, unique creatures.

We purchased their “food” and held it up over their fence. Make sure you have your quarters at hand! They slowly approached the fence, sometimes one by one, sometimes as a herd towards us. Alpacas are very endearing, and feeding them was the fuzziest experience to happen in my palm.

After our time with the alpacas, we stopped at the alpaca store, which has the cutest collection of Alpaca souvenirs to take home with you. There are many sweaters, socks, hats, gloves, handcrafted goods, jewelry, and toys.

Some Vermont alpaca farm visits are by appointment only. We selected this alpaca farm as we were looking for one that we could cover on our way to Woodstock, Vermont, and open for walk-in visits. Make sure what their closing hours are depending on the season you plan to visit.
