DIY Modern Fall wreath

I am so excited to share this simple DIY Fall wreath with you all. It turned out so pretty and took less than 30 min to make it. As we are stepping into Fall, I wanted to put together a quick wreath, a floral one this time, rather than a traditional maple leaves wreath. I picked up a bouquet that had the prettiest flowers in various shades of orange to signify the Fall/Autumn season, and greenery from Micheals.

For the frame, I used a metallic gold ring, but there are many other options; an embroidery hoop, the traditional grapevine wreath, a photo frame, a triangular frame. The gold color from the ring coupled with the orange and greens gives the wreath a very festive look.

Let’s jump right into knowing what materials we are going to need and how to put it together.

What we need:

Let’s do it:

  • Create bundles of all your green stems and different types of flowers you have on hand, remove the excess stems and bulbs with wire cutters.
  • Create a mockup of how you want your wreath to look, the wideness and thickness, etc.
  • It will be extremely helpful if you take a photo of this mockup as a reference for arranging the flowers back on later in the process!💡
  • Start placing the greenery and all the long stems over the hoop.
  • Bend the stems a little as needed, and secure them with a wire, cut down the extra stems with wire cutters.
  • Add hot glue wherever required to secure the stems to stop them from twisting around the frame.
  • Start filling in the orange flowers over the greenery.
  • I wanted the most oversized rose from my bouquet to be the focal point, so I adhered it to the center of the greenery.
  • Next, fill in the other flowers. I made sure to add a white sunflower and a red flower to incorporate more colors.
  • Apply a generous amount of glue to keep all the foliage in place. 💡
  • Hold your wreath up and give it a shake to check for any pieces that need to be further secured.
  • Add leaves / flowers wherever there are sparse areas in the wreath if you want it looking lush and full.
  • Add a loop using a thread to hang it on a wall.
