DIY Eucalyptus Wreath

This modern, boho, scandi set of wreaths is a lovely minimal way to welcome the summer season. The color of eucalyptus leaves on the hoops is just the perfect amount of green!! I love them with & without the floral touch!

There are so many different ways to make and style these. It would be perfect in a bedroom, as nursery decor, in a powder bath, your entryway, as a crown on a mirror, a door, or mixed into a wall display; it will surely make the walls feel a little green in the house! They are also perfect as photoshoot backdrops. For the front door, you could also incorporate a ‘Welcome’/’Summer’/’Home’ personal note into it! Here are the wreaths photographed around in various rooms in my house!

The greenery in my wreath set is from faux eucalyptus branches, but you can customize it with olive branches, lambs ear stems, lemon leaves, and lemons! You could also switch the hoop with a gold or silver hoop to use it as a festive/wedding/tea party/bridal shower decor!

What you need:

How to make it:

  • Cut your stems using wire cutters. I did mine with scissors, but it would’ve been a lottttt easier with a wire cutter, which I didn’t have at hand! I cut the stems into three different lengths. I left some extra room at the end of every trimming so we can sit in the branches on the hoop.
  • There is really no perfect formula for creating a wreath because every wreath is unique, like a snowflake! Play around with the stems as you like, around the edge of the hoop; make sure you cover the screw of the hoop.
  • Tie in the greenery using floral tape, floral wire, hot glue, zip ties, twine, or anything that ties! 😀 I mostly used hot glue to secure the stems in place. To make sure that the stem stayed in position, I also used a brown embroidery thread and tied the stem to the hoop. Make several twists and knots until you feel it’s secured and hot glue in the thread’s open ends.
  • Trim a couple of leaves into smaller sizes and fill in any gaps in the wreath if you like a lush look!
  • I opted out the flowers in this one, but now would be the right time add in your flowers! It would still look great without the floral accents.
  • For the eucalyptus leaves to look more natural, I also wanted to add the little buds. I used the buds from another faux bouquet and painted their little stems in “eucalyptus color” so they blend in. Wait for the paint to dry and glue them in on the hoops, wherever they look natural.
  • Hang the wreaths individually or all together as a wreath collage in a design you like!

These wreaths are so beautiful, customizable, yet so easy to make! Even better, they work perfectly for any time of the year by adding simple touches of the theme of that season – spring flowers, fall leaves, pine cones, Christmas berries!
