DIY Marble Geometric Wall Planters

We are already quite into the Spring, the season for gardening, but I am not quite ready for outdoor planting yet 🙈. I was looking for inspirations to display some of the succulents I have at home and soon realized I have everything I needed to pull off these faux marble succulent planters!

They are super easy to make, and you can use this as a planter to show off your little air plants, succulents (artificial), or simply as a wall hanging storage and organization piece for office supplies, and more. You can hang them using jute twine, a chain if you have some handy, a leather strap, whatever fits your style. Its goal is to display your delicate items while adding add a little accent to your home! By making these geometric plant holders on your own, you’ll also end saving money for those plants that you most care about!

What you need:

Prep time:

~ 30 mins

How to make it:

  • Lay down your sticks/straws and form the shape of a holder.
  • Measure the size of the triangular pocket formed (height and depth) and cut the cardboard in a size that would easily sit in that pocket. Tip: I would suggest using an already folded piece of cardboard so that it stays bent throughout and has a smoother finish when you fold.
  • Now hot glue all the corners of the frame, try to smooth out the edges to cover up the glue chunks.
  • While allowing it to dry, cut a piece of the contact paper to match the plant holder. Then stick the contact paper to the cardboard, making sure there are no air gaps.
  • I also hot glued the contact paper on the inside of the cardboard after folding it in, for it to stay put longer.
  • If you don’t love the marble look, you can use chalk paint and paint the cardboard over in your favorite color and sand the corners for a ceramic / cement-y look!
  • Next, spray paint the frame with a gold or copper spray paint and let dry.
  • Cover up any gaps in paint with acrylic gold paint or even skip the spray paint all tother and just paint with the acrylic paint.
  • Allow the paint to dry and then install the planter into the frame.
  • Finally, arrange plants in your planters and get them up in your house!

Where do you keep your indoor plants? What kinds of holders do you own or have made? Do you think I should experiment with different plantings like growing herbs in these planters? 😁😁Let me know in the comments!
