Floral watering can wall hanging

Another lovely spring decoration that is super easy to make. I love making seasonal wreaths for my front door, and for this Spring, I have a different plan for it! This design allows me to include a text AND repurpose all the items I have at home! The watering can adds a natural touch and gives a garden-y feel to this Springtime decor. The best part of this – as the words on the watering can are hand-painted, you can totally paint them back white and add a new text! It almost works like white ink!

I am going with the text – “Hello Spring” for this one because I am planning to hang this on my front door for this Spring season! This idea also makes a unique gift for a bridal shower, birthday, or housewarming! You can use phrases like “Home sweet home”, “Love grows here” if you’re making it as a house warming gift, “Bloom where you are planted”, “Life is beautiful”, “Spring forward” for a well-wishing/positive-messaged gift!

What you need:

How to make it:

  • Paint the canvas in wood color or your favorite color
  • Once the color dries, trace out a watering can in the shape you like! Remember to leave enough space for flowers on top of the can and also make sure the words you are planning to write fit on the can!
  • Color the watering can and allow drying for 15 min. Another cool idea is to cut out a colorful scrap paper in the shape of a can and stick it onto the canvas/wood
  • Using a pencil, write down the words you planned very lightly! Next, I traced it out with a color pencil before using paint.
  • Organize the flowers and leaves in a layout you planned, and carefully stick them in place
  • Create a small loop to hang it on a command hook, thumb pin or use a double-sided tape as I did for a cleaner placement on the wall/door!

That is it!! It’s super easy to make and a nice way to spend some me time and repurpose your old canvases! Let me know in the comments what quote you are going with!
